Auburn Football: Hugh Freeze on Urgency for 2025
Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze acknowledges the need for improvement as the team heads into the 2025 season. After a 6-7 first year and a disappointing 5-7 record in 2024, Auburn must step up in the highly competitive SEC.
“We need to perform better and win more games,” Freeze said. “Our urgency comes from preparation and confidence, not fear. I love our players, staff, and the confidence that’s building.”
Auburn endured a tough stretch last season, including a four-game losing streak with two one-score losses. Freeze remains optimistic but recognizes the need to strengthen key positions.
Auburn’s Spring Practice Changes
Auburn will not hold a full intrasquad scrimmage, following a trend started by Nebraska. Instead, the A-Day Event on April 12 will feature:
11:00 AM CT – Alumni flag football game
11:30 AM CT – Tiger Walk
12:00 PM CT – Open practice session
Post-Practice – Autograph session at Jordan-Hare Stadium
This replaces the traditional Fan Day usually held in August.
