Knoxville, TN – The Tennessee Volunteers have announced that former head coach Derek Dooley will be returning to the program in a new role. Dooley, who served as the Volunteers’ head coach from 2010 to 2012.
The move marks a surprise return to Rocky Top for Dooley, who has spent the past decade coaching in the NFL and at other collegiate programs. Despite his tumultuous tenure as head coach, Dooley remains a beloved figure in Knoxville, and his return is seen as a major coup for the Volunteers.
