Bronson Xerri’s remarkable redemption in the NRL has taken another step forward, with the Canterbury Bulldogs extending his contract for an additional two years.
The 24-year-old, who overcame a four-year doping suspension that once threatened to derail his rugby league career, has proven his worth since joining the Bulldogs. His performances in 2024 saw him score 10 tries and make 39 tackle breaks, firmly establishing himself as a first-choice centre under coach Cameron Ciraldo.
Bulldogs general manager Phil Gould heaped praise on Xerri for his commitment and maturity, which he said had made a significant impact on the club. “Bronson has quickly solidified himself as a key member of our squad moving forward,” Gould stated on Thursday. “From the moment he stepped through our doors, he has shown incredible maturity and dedication to the Bulldogs. He still has so much potential at just 24 years old, and we’re confident his future in blue and white is incredibly bright.”
Xerri’s new deal secures his place with the Bulldogs until the end of 2027, underscoring the club’s belief in his talent and value to the team.
